Baile/Dance January 23rd

Last Saturday we were invited (or rather invited ourselves) to go to one of the bailes or dances that the church puts on for the Young Single Adults here.  When we arrived it was quite the party, very different from the states.  For one, they were blasting music from the chapel so loud that you could hear it a couple blocks away, i hope the neighbors didn't mind.  If I didn't know it was a church dance I would have seriously thought it was some club putting up some party.  Secondly, they definitely went all out, with the lighting and decorations.  Brazilians really know how to throw a party went they want to!  The dancing and music was also very different.  Instead of the normal hip hop and slow songs, they played a lot of samba, forro and sertaneja.  It was kind of a challenge to learn the dance for forro at first.  It's kinda like Swing, you can learn the basics but there's always going to be more complex moves you can learn.
