Pinacoteca do Estado February 20th

On our free day Anders and I visited the Pinacoteco do Estado/ famous art museum in São Paulo situated in the Parque de Luz/Estação de Luz.  The Pinacoteco do Estado was a really fun experience for Anders and I.      Considered one of the most important art museums of Brazil, the museum is a mix of sculptures and paintings.  The unique thing about this museum is that all of the art is by Brazilian artists.  It's amazing to see how far Brazil has come in terms of art and culture.  My old humanities teacher used to stress that a civilizations art directly mirrors its rise and success as a country.  And if the Pinacoteca do Estado is any indication, Brazil is definitely on the rise!
I was also impressed with the layout of the whole art gallery.  The art was well placed in terms of themes.  I liked the easy and very clear explanations that the art museum provided, a system that would assist even the most novice in art matters. In fact my favorite booth was a creative interactive section that was made for visiting art lovers.  The concept was simple: when people finished their tour of the museum they could leave behind a brief 30 second video recording in a booth of their experience and what impacted them.   Well Anders and I decided to go about it a little bit differently.  Since it was a art museum we figured why not leave our own creative, artistic version of a recording? So what we did was create a 30 second  rap and beat box about our hip experience at the art gallery.  Half way through we got some really strange looks from the security guard, but it was well worth the effort.  And so if you ever hit up the art gallery look for our recording!
